In Memory of Avid Trader

A long time ago, back in the early part of the new millennium, there was a chat room called Avid Trader. I was new to trading, and there was a website where serious professional traders would share their trading ideas. I believe it started at some point in the mid ’90s.

The chat room technology was extremely basic. I never found out how to post charts. There were no graphics to it. The background was black. The text was green. It was like reading through a piece of software code. All you saw was a line of text. By today’s standard, it was extremely basic.

The content was however nothing short of amazing. Then Avid Trader closed down. I don’t know why. I had saved a lot of content but with the help of my friends, especially a big thank you to Zarif Virmani, who collected many of Tepid2’s posts.

The collection of material is huge – spanning more than 1000 pages. I hope you enjoy it.
